Artist Satement

This is Muala. She is 17. Growing up she always encountered the leopards that used to live close to her village. She had established a connection with one of the giant cats. The shaman in the village said that the connection was a spiritual one and this was her spirit animal. They started hanging out more and more, to the point where they have become inseparable. The young girl even gave a name to the exotic creature - Carla. Everyone in the village admires the relationship that Muala and her leopard friend Carla have. There is no Muala without Carla and there is no Carla without Muala. They are one.'

“The idea behind this piece was to present the lady and the leopard as one. I am an artist from Devon that really enjoys using a stylistic approach. I take natural forms from an image and alter the colour, shapes and features to create a more symbolic or abstract effect. Creating this print has been so much fun and such an honour. PARDICOLOR is an amazing charity that is facing environmental issues in such a innovative, and collective way. Thank you for the work that you do.” - Jess.
