Artist Statement
“As an artist, I’m so happy when the work I do has the opportunity to make a small impact on a global scale and help some of the causes I care about. Which is why I’m so honored to have been approached for a second time by creative initiative PARDICOLOR to create a special artwork raising funds for wildlife conservation around the globe. For this artwork I chose to depict the enigmatic Puma, an elusive big cat that has personal significance to me, as I had a magical encounter with one while hiking in a remote national park in Costa Rica in 2024 (see final puma image above). Being confronted by this majestic creature in the wild affirmed my belief in the importance of people and organisations involved in global conservation, environmental awareness and wildlife rehabilitation.” - Olivié

100 % of the profits from the sale of this print will support on-the-ground puma conservation efforts in the Paraguayan Gran Chaco, driven by the Chaco Jaguar Conservation Project and its parent organisation, S.P.E.C.I.E.S. By partnering directly with local ranchers and communities, the project implements non-lethal deterrent tools and sustainable livestock management practices to mitigate human-wildlife conflict. While the jaguar serves as the program’s regional umbrella species, these vital interventions directly spare, protect, and benefit local puma populations across the shared landscape. This collaborative, science-driven approach delivers practical solutions that secure a safer future for South America's large carnivores.
