MISSION

Founded by conservationists at Wildlife Asia with a vision to unite creativity and conservation, we’re on a mission to help save Earth’s biodiversity through the power of art and people.

Guided by our mission, we empower artists and communities to create impactful art, raising awareness and inspiring action on the critical threats facing wildlife, habitats and people today. Scroll down to learn more about our Guiding Principles.

Our guiding principles are the driving force behind our mission to support artists and save Earth’s biological diversity.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

THE RIGHT TO THRIVE

All creatures on Earth, that is, the millions of species that make up our planet’s ‘Biological Diversity’, deserve to exist and survive alongside humans in the Anthropocene.

THE RIGHT TO MAKE ART

All artists deserve to be supported, and everyone, where-ever they are, can be an artist. And, fostering creativity from diversity of people and places is key to realising our (a) vision of a future, sustainable and biodiverse Earth.

THE RIGHT TO KNOW

Everyone living on Earth deserves to know and experience the beauty of the multitude of species inhabiting our planet, and the healthy habitats they (should) live in.

OUR ORIGINS

Our vision is a world where wildlife and wilderness thrives in harmony with people and culture. At Wildlife Asia, we work to conserve endangered species and threatened habitats across Southeast Asia, including the last place on earth where orangutans, tigers, rhinos and elephants all co-exist, the incredible Leuser Ecosystem in Aceh, Sumatra.

WHY ARE WE CALLED ‘PARDICOLOR’?

Prionodon pardicolor is the scientific name of the Spotted Linsang, a small, tree-dwelling carnivore found in the tropical forests of India, Nepal, China, Bhutan, and mainland Southeast Asia.

Weighing less than 600 grams and living largely in the canopy, this elusive species often escapes detection by standard wildlife survey methods like camera traps. Despite its wide geographic and altitudinal range — recorded up to 3,308 meters — the Spotted Linsang remains virtually unknown. As researchers have noted, it is "one of several tropical species which… remains virtually unknown and could disappear without anybody noticing."

We chose the name PARDICOLOR to reflect our commitment to shining a light on the overlooked. Through art, we support creative efforts to document, celebrate, and imagine the lives of species like the Spotted Linsang — and the astonishing, intricate biodiversity that makes up life on Earth.
